“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.” -Henry David Thoreau

Total Miles Hiked

Difficulty (1-10)

Fun Level (1-10)

Eagle point preserve featured three trail loops. I estimate that the entire trail took about 4.5 miles to finish with each trail in the place looping around.

We did the hike again with my sister. She accompanied us on both of the journeys today! She stayed with us over the weekend and we had a great time. We spent most of the time either eating, sweating, or playing board games.

Anyways, this hike was relatively easy. We accomplished it in just about an hour and a half. The terrain continued to change from pine needles, to rocks, to more of a soft dirt feel. It was around a lake so I guess this was to be expected?

I loved this hike due to its relative ease but also changing terrain. At one point we walked through a meadow type area that Miranda loved.

We love being out in nature; the sweet smells, pleasant views, and the break from the busyness of life. There is nothing like it in all the world, and I cannot wait to go out again!
